My “You-Don’t-Want-To-Miss” Summer Reading List!

The only thing my summer is missing right now is a really good book. I tend to literally lose myself in books, so I haven’t hunkered down into the pages of that wonderful far-off land in quite some time. But next week we are headed for a few days of R & R and I’m practically rubbing my hands together like a diabolical mad-man trying to decide which book to escape into for a few days.

I’ve compiled a list below of some of the best non-fiction and fiction books I’ve ever read. The authors are in alphabetical order. I categorized them like my blog, into the areas of Faith, Family, Adoption and Advocacy (with the exception of a sub-category of books on China). This is, mind you, the short list. I could get lost here too, listing everything I have read and I want to read, but we’ll start with this very worthy selection. In the Faith section, in particular, I challenge you to read outside of your comfort zone. I find that, the more antiquated authors I read, the deeper my soul seems to become. Reading the spiritual giants of the past helps give us a timeless perspective on life and the work of God across the span of time.

So branch out, challenge yourself and dig in! I hope you find something that peaks your interest, sparks your imagination, warms your heart or inspires you to be more.

Happy Summer Reading!
